Joe,
Puppy Linux is using JWM 2.0.1, but we have a problem that has been
in all versions. Now I have replaced Gxine with Mplayer and it has
got a whole lot worse. Basically, there are two problems.

1.
Windows drawing partially off the top of the screen.
Recently I have been testing Puppy on one of these new children's
laptops (actually, they're great for adults too!), the Intel
Classmate PC laptop (see details in my blog:
http://www.puppylinux.com/blog/).
The screen is 800x480, and this seems to have enhanced the problem,
with windows drawing with the titlebar off the screen. If the titlebar
is not there, then I have to right-click on the tray and then drag the
window down.
This problem has always been there. Just every now and again, but the
smaller screen seems to have made it a bit worse.
Windows should always be draw with the titlebar visible, instead the bottom
of the window can be off the screen. Or even the right side.

2.
Windows drawing totally off the screen. This is happening with
Mplayer. Mplayer starts two windows, the control panel and the
video output. Sometimes both display on the screen, but sometimes
only one of them renders on the screen -- it varies, sometimes its
one, sometimes the other. Once again, right-click on the "missing"
window in the tray, choose "Move" and it can be dragged back onto the
screen.

The latest Puppy, codenamed "Dingo", alpha2 is available for download,
see my blog. It has Mplayer, and it is not just on my screen that
this is happening, others report it also. Note, we are using the
Xvesa Kdrive X server. It's a showstopper, I really do want to move
to Mplayer, but this has to be fixed. I would greatly appreciate if
you could check it out.

Note, other than the above, we love 2.0.1. The Puppy fans love the
new gradients!
