[JWM] Using Gradients

The new gradient option is really nice, but I can't find a way to use  
it when auto-generating settings (from a gtkrc file).

Does anyone know of a utility that can be given a single colour (and  
possibly parameters) and returns a pair of colours that can be used  
for the gradient?

For example: given "gray80", it will return "gray90:gray70" (only I'm  
interested in giving it a hex triplet).

(This could probably be implemented into JWM, but I don't think it's  
worth the complication involved…)
